Growth in Every Postcode

At the time of writing, we are just over two months out from the Autumn Budget. As is usual for Autumn Budgets; before The Chancellor, John Healey, gets to his feet on 28^th October 2026, the speculation and rumour mill will wind up as ideas are floated and agendas promoted.

The treasury has already said that the budget will follow the Prime Minister’s stated aim of growth in every postcode. However, the PM has already taken the opportunity of a visit to Ukraine to refuse to rule out tax rises, commenting: “I won't be unrealistic and people really need to understand that.”

So, two months out it seems as though the lead in to the budget could be longer and more convoluted than before. This then is the time for investors to remember that the best advice is to look to the long term and to structure investment portfolios based on individual needs and personal situations, rather than to react to what may be speculation.
