Fit for the Future
At Beckworth, we look to work with our clients to adopt investment strategies which help them to prepare for anticipated future needs whilst taking account of current circumstances. But being financially future fit is only one small element of overall life planning. That requires a wide variety of initiatives including eating well and staying fit.
So how are we doing? The latest health and wellbeing outcomes report is out and it shows that in general people in Devon are faring worse than the average for England. For example, 39.4% of adults in Devon reported eating five or more portions of fruit and vegetables each day against the average of 44.2% across England. There are regional differences here with those in East Devon eating best at 41.9%, whilst Exeter lags behind on just 35.8%.
In Devon the proportion of physically active adults at 71.1% is close to the England average of 72.6%. On a more positive note, just 62.4% of adults in Devon are overweight, against 73.5% across England.
